In order to qualify to represent RMRHA at the affiliate finals, the rider of the horse must be a member of RMRHA.

RMRHA membership categories include: Individual or entity membership - $20 per calendar year; Youth membership - $10 per calendar year.  RMRHA does not offer a family or couple membership.   RMRHA memberships run from January 1 through December 31 of each year.

Rider Qualification per NRHA 2008 Affiliate Championships Rules:
1.  For an affiliate to qualify a rider for a class, that specific class must be offered in at least three (3) circuit shows.  There is no minimum or maximum number of shows that a rider must attend.
2.  A rider may qualify in only one region and for only one affiliate.
3.  The rider must be a member of their local affiliate and their National Association Affiliate where applicable at the time of competition for points to count toward regional finals qualifications.
4.  The affiliate membership lists will be used to determine a rider's affiliate.  Riders with membership in more than one (1) affiliate must declare to the NRHA office each year by July 1 the affiliate they plan to represent at the regional finals whether or not they have shown in more than one affiliate. A rider's designation willremain as declared until the NRHA office is notified of a change. Designations and changes received between July 1 and December 31 will apply to the following year.
5.  Points are to be calculated on a one horse/one rider format.
6.  Points will be awarded based on the number of horses actually competing in the class, i.e., if fifteen (15) horses compete, first place will be awarded 15 points, 2nd place - 14 points, etc.  Points will be calculated on horses actually competing, excluding the horses entered but scratched.  Zeros and no scores will not be awarded points.
7.  The top ten (10) horse and rider combinations plus ties from each class offered in a circuit qualify for the regional affiliate finals. There will be no alternates, nor will substitutions be allowed.
8.  The NRHA office will post the standings of each affiliate on the NRHA web site.
9.  Those qualifying for the regional finals may only enter the championship classes for which they qualify.
10.  Riders may not change horses for the regional finals.

IMPORTANT: To assure that you will be able to represent the affiliate you intend to, please complete an Affiliate Designation Form and fax or send it to the NRHA office prior to July 1st of each year. This form can be found here: 2008 Affiliate Designation Form.

A horse may qualify for more than one class with the same or different riders.  For example, an open rider may qualify the horse in the open and a non-pro rider may qualify the horse in the non-pro class. A rider may not show more than three horses per class regardless of the number of horses that rider may have qualified for the affiliate finals. Also, two riders may not ride the same horse in the same class. For more on the NRHA Affiliate Program, please visit www.NRHA.com.

Any questions relating to these qualification procedures should be addressed to the Affiliate Shows Chairperson for RMRHA. For the year 2007, that individual is Catherine Irvin (phone - (303) 337-9321 and email - cirvin9901@aol.com).

Currently, RMRHA awards a Champion,  Reserve Champion, and third place recognition in the following approved categories:

Non Pro
Intermediate Non Pro
Limited Non Pro

Novice Horse Open
Novice Horse Non Pro
Green Rookie

Youth - Ages 13 & Under

RMRHA will use an exhibitors best five of the seven qualifying shows to calculate their point standings for year-end awards. Year-End award winners will be determined by total points earned in each division using the following point system:   10 points for placing first , 9 points for second place, 8 points for third place and so forth down through 1 point for the 10th place horse in a class.  If an exhibitor shows in all 7 year end shows, the top 5 results will be used and the other 2 results will be dropped.

If a horse is owned by an "entity", e.g., LLC, partnership, corporation, syndicate, etc., that "entity" must have a RMRHA membership in order for the horse to qualify for year end awards.  Individuals of that entity are not required to have an individual membership, unless that individual competes on the entity owned horse and wishes to have the points earned count towards the year end standings.  If a horse is owned by two or more individuals (John Smith, Mary Smith and Bill Jones), each individual must be a member of RMRHA to have the points earned count towards year end standings.

RMRHA membership categories include: Individual or entity membership - $20 per calendar year; Youth membership - $10 per calendar year. RMRHA memberships run from January 1 through December 31 of each year.  RMRHA does not offer family or couple memberships.

A horse may qualify for more than one year-end award with the same or different riders.  For example, an open rider may qualify the horse in the open and a non-pro rider may qualify the horse in the non-pro class.

The Affiliate Shows Chairperson is also responsible for tracking points earned for year-end award winners. Any questions relating to these qualification procedures should be addressed to the Affiliate Shows Chairperson for RMRHA. For the year 2008, that individual is Catherine Irvin (phone - 303-337-9321 and/or email - cirvin9901@aol.com).
