Congratulations to 2007 NRHA Youth of the Year and RMRHA Member Christi Gordon!
According to a recent NRHA press release, one of our youth members, Christi Gordon, of Evergreen, CO has been named the 2007 NRHA Youth of the Year: "For her achievements, Christi will receive a Certificate of Achievement, a custom belt buckle, a scholarship, and an NRHyA letter jacket. She will be honored at the 2007 NRHA Awards Banquet, Saturday, February 2, 2008, in Oklahoma City, OK. In 2007, Christi served the NRHyA by selling raffle tickets, submitting photographs and artwork, writing short stories, participating in the NRHyA contests, and served extensively in the Evergreen community.  Christi is also an involved RMRHA youth member, currently serving as VP to the youth organization.  She is also committed to reining throughout the United States in the NRHA, USEF, and APHA reining competitions. In addition to her love for horses, Christi enjoys playing the piano, drawing in acrylics and pencil, and rooting on the Rockies! However, Christi’s special desire is to serve others. This year Christi donated countless hours helping mothers with their small children as a “mother’s helper.”  She also spent many hours at the local nursing home playing the piano for the elderly, singing, participating in plays, passing out goodies, and spending time with the residents. Christi believes that character is the true trophy in life, not achievements. With deep gratefulness, Christi is honored to receive this unique and special opportunity to be named the 2007 NRHA Youth of the Year!" Way to go, Christi, RMRHA is proud of you!
